Once upon a time, on the banks of a river, there lived a monkey on a large berry tree. The tree offered sweet fruits to the monkey every day. In the same river, there lived a crocodile and his wife
The crocodile used to take some fruits home for his wife. However, his wicked wife thought, “If this monkey eats these fruits every day, his heart must be extremely sweet!”. She asked her husband to bring the monkey to her so she could eat his heart.
The crocodile was shocked and didn’t want to betray his friend. But his wife insisted, pretending to be ill, and threatened to starve herself if she did not get the monkey’s heart.
Forced by his wife, the crocodile went to the monkey and said, “My dear friend, my wife wants to thank you for the delicious fruits and has invited you for lunch”. The innocent monkey happily agreed, but as he did not know how to swim, he jumped onto the crocodile’s back.
